I will build a simple mini-site that collects examples of real world protocols suggested by the community. The site would serve as a resource for people who are building an intuition for what a protocol is and how to identify them, as well as what the consequences of their design might be. The site will be less robust than a wiki. Similar to this defunct collection of brutalist websites but with more detail.
If someone asked you what hyperpop is, it would be easier to send them a playlist than to explain the genre. This is a greatest-hits playlist for protocols.
Any feedback and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Specifically, I would like to know:
- What is the right amount of entries? 10? 100?
- I don’t have a list of protocols and would love to hear suggestions from the community. The protocols studied by the SoP '24 researchers might be a good starting point.
- I would love suggestions on how to format entries. Should each entry have a description? A process map? A rating or a value judgement? etc.
