Definitely a great starting point. I appreciated the 10 types of sufficiency:

  • mortal
  • legible
  • legitmate
  • defensible
  • generative
  • ludic (playful)
  • learnable
  • constrained
  • evolvable
  • stewardable

They do give a good scaffold for thinking about protocols.

The example of email protocols naturally centralizing over time reminded me of content moderation on large platforms
