Also – I met a guy named Sahil, at Edge City, who is interested in using this workshop as a template for an event in the UK in a couple weeks. I pinged @JohnGrant to see if he’s interested in being put in touch with the organizer. Anyone else from the UK and interested, comment or DM me your Telegram handle and I will connect you!
I’m intrigued by the mythmaking and mapping exercises. Could you share more about the expected learning outcomes or the specific protocol capabilities the workshop aims to develop?
Understand how tensions affect how communities structure themselves, and how this affects the development of a physical environment downstream.
Use narratives as a tool for exploring tensions, managing conflict, and ideating protocols.
Not sure I hit all of those boxes in the workshop that I ran on Friday, but it was headed in the right direction. In retrospect, I would have doubled down on the 2x2 exercise and held off a bit on the mapping.
By the way, I sent you a message on Telegram re the UK workshop. Not sure if you use the app much. Do you prefer email?
Thanks for sharing these details. The emphasis on understanding tensions through narratives is definitely interesting. I’m a strong advocate of learning in public but I’ve decided to focus more on asynchronous projects for the time being. It aligns better both with my learning preferences but also the research topics I’d like to focus on. I look forward to reading anything Sahil posts about these workshops.
